Today’s chapel service was graciously led by the School of Computing and Information Science, and we are deeply grateful for the department as they continue to do an excellent job in advancing digital innovation and supporting the university’s operations.
Our sincere appreciation goes to our speaker today Ms. Betty Soi, our Webmaster, who delivered an inspiring message drawn from Hebrews 12:14 and 1 Peter 1:15. Her teaching centered on God’s call to holiness and the importance of living in peace with one another.
Ms. Soi reminded the congregation that the God who has called us is holy, and therefore we are also called to pursue holiness in our daily lives. She emphasized that peace and forgiveness are essential marks of a believer. Encouraging everyone to let go of bitterness, she challenged us to forgive those who have wronged us so that we may experience the peace that comes from God.
One of the most profound lessons from her message was that while many things in life can be imitated, holiness cannot be faked. She urged students and staff alike to remember that academic qualifications, professional titles, and positions of influence should never replace a genuine relationship with God. Above all else, we are called to live holy lives that reflect Christ.
She concluded by encouraging the congregation to remain prayerful and to resist the devil, trusting in God’s promise that he will flee when we stand firm in faith.
The service concluded with a powerful prayer by our Chancellor, Rev. Dr. Robert Kipkemoi Langat, who was present throughout the service. In his closing remarks, he encouraged both students and staff to make chapel attendance a priority, emphasizing that regular fellowship and the study of God’s Word are vital for spiritual growth and the holistic development of the university community.
