We were greatly blessed during today’s Tuesday Chapel Service as Kenya Highlands University Students Association (KHUSA) leadership team led the congregation in service. Student leaders play a vital role in the life of the University by providing servant leadership, fostering unity among students, and encouraging spiritual growth across the university. Their active participation in chapel services demonstrates the University’s commitment to nurturing leaders who are grounded in Christian values and dedicated to serving others.
The day’s message was delivered by KHUSA Spiritual Life Director, Pastor Nicholas, who shared from Exodus 3:1–10 on the theme, “The Holy God’s Call to Our Generation.” Using Moses’ encounter with God at the burning bush, he reminded the congregation that God’s call to holiness remains relevant today. Just as God called Moses from an ordinary moment into an extraordinary purpose, He continues to call men and women to lives that honour Him.
Pastor Nicholas emphasized that holiness begins with a personal encounter with God. Moses’ life changed the moment he encountered God’s presence, and in the same way, believers today are transformed when they intentionally seek God. He reminded the congregation that God’s greatest gift to His people is His presence. In a world filled with distractions and competing priorities, Christians must develop a daily desire to walk with God through prayer, worship, and meditation on His Word.
The sermon further highlighted that holiness transforms ordinary people into instruments for God’s purposes. Moses did not consider himself qualified to lead the Israelites, yet God chose him because He looks beyond human limitations. Pastor Nicholas encouraged the congregation to continually examine their lives and allow God to shape their character. He noted that holiness is not confined to church services but should be evident in every area of life, including academic pursuits, leadership responsibilities, relationships, workplaces, and personal conduct. Pastor Nicholas also reminded the congregation that every genuine encounter with God leads to a divine mission. After revealing Himself to Moses, God commissioned him to return to Egypt and deliver His people from bondage. Likewise, Christians are called to participate in God’s mission by proclaiming the Gospel and demonstrating Christ’s love through their words and actions. The Congregation were challenged to become faithful ambassadors of Christ within the University and wherever God may lead them, recognizing that every profession and every sphere of influence presents an opportunity to serve God faithfully.
As he concluded the message, He encouraged everyone to remain steadfast in their commitment to holiness despite the challenges and pressures of today’s world. He urged the congregation to stand firm for what is right, to pursue God’s presence daily, and to allow their lives to reflect the holiness of the God they serve.
The Tuesday Chapel Service served as a timely reminder that Kenya Highlands University remains committed to integrating Faith, Life, and Learning by nurturing students who are academically competent, spiritually mature, and prepared to make a Christ-centred impact in society. Through such moments of worship and biblical teaching, the University continues to shape graduates who will faithfully answer God’s call and serve their generation with integrity, compassion, and excellence.
