Our Tuesday Chapel Service was a time of spiritual encouragement as our teaching staff led the university community in worship. We were privileged to have our Registrar Academics, Rev. Dr. John Kitur, share a thought-provoking message on “Practicing Holiness in the Workplace.”
Drawing from Song of Solomon 2:15, “Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards,” Rev. Dr. Kitur reminded us that holiness is not merely a personal conviction but a lifestyle reflected in our words, actions, and attitudes. He emphasized that our commitment to Christ should be evident in how we work, communicate, and relate with others every day.
He challenged the congregation to identify the “little foxes” that often creep into the workplace and academic environment. These include poor attitudes, miscommunication, lateness, dishonesty in examinations, and other seemingly minor habits that gradually erode integrity and hinder a life of holiness and spiritual growth.
Rev. Dr. Kitur encouraged everyone to seek God’s help through prayer, allowing Him to reveal and remove these small compromises before they become greater obstacles. He reminded us that a life of holiness is cultivated through daily dependence on God and a commitment to honoring Him in every responsibility entrusted to us.
As a university community committed to integrating faith, life and learning to have Christian professionals, we are challenged to pursue excellence with integrity, demonstrating Christ-like character in our workplaces, classrooms, and daily interactions.
May we faithfully “catch the little foxes” and continue to live lives that glorify God in all that we do.
