Pastors play a crucial role in society by offering spiritual leadership, nurturing faith, and guiding communities toward God’s purpose. At Kenya Highlands University, through the School of Theology/ Kenya Highlands Seminary, we remain committed to training and equipping men and women who are called to serve God and impact society for Christ.
We were privileged to have students from the School of Theology lead and participate in our Tuesday chapel service. Their presence was a testimony to the university’s commitment to developing future Christian leaders.
The sermon was delivered by Pastor John Cheruiyot, Senior Pastor of AGC Keongo Church, who shared a powerful message from 2 Timothy 2:20–21. Reflecting on the Apostle Paul’s teaching, he emphasized that God is not primarily concerned with a person’s intellect, social standing, or earthly accomplishments, but with a heart that is pure, consecrated, and fully surrendered to His service.
Pastor Cheruiyot challenged both staff and students to pursue holiness, cultivate Godly character, and remain spiritually prepared for the Master’s use. He reminded the congregation that a vessel becomes useful not because of its outward appearance or human value, but because it has been cleansed and set apart for honorable purposes. It was a timely reminder that God uses those who are willing to be shaped, purified, and prepared for His Kingdom work.
