We were honored to host Dr. Steve Manchester, a World Gospel Mission missionary and Medical Doctor at AGC Tenwek Hospital, speaking to us during our Thursday Chapel Service led by the University’s Peer Counseling Group.
The service began with a brief presentation by the Peer Counseling Group, highlighting the various activities and support services they offer within the university community. The group operates under the leadership of the University Counselor, Mrs. Sally Sambu, whose dedication continues to empower students and foster a supportive environment for personal growth and well-being.
Addressing students, faculty, and staff, Dr. Steve Manchester delivered a powerful and practical message based on 2 Corinthians 3:18, focusing on God’s transformative work in the life of every believer. He emphasized that spiritual growth is a continuous journey that begins with recognizing one’s sinfulness and progresses toward a life fully surrendered to God.
Drawing from biblical teachings, Dr. Manchester outlined the stages of spiritual maturity, encouraging believers to deepen their relationship with Christ, grow in their love for God, and develop a genuine concern for others. He explained that through faith in Jesus Christ, individuals receive forgiveness, are reconciled to God, and are empowered by the Holy Spirit to live transformed and purposeful lives.
The chapel service provided a meaningful opportunity for worship, reflection, and spiritual encouragement.
