We were honoured to host Rev. Dr. David Kilel, an alumnus who graduated in 1975, during our Tuesday Chapel service. His visit was both inspiring and deeply reflective as he shared how God transformed his life during his time at the university. Through personal experiences and testimony, he reminded the congregation of the power of faith and prayer even in the most challenging moments of life.
Drawing his message from Psalms 85:4–7, Rev. Dr. Kilel spoke on the theme “Revival in Times of Crisis.” He defined a crisis as a moment of danger, difficulty, or confusion times that often leave people uncertain about the future. he emphasized that such moments should not push believers away from God but instead draw them closer to Him through prayer and trust.
Rev. Dr. Kilel encouraged the congregation to remain steadfast in prayer whenever they encounter crises. According to him, difficult seasons often become the very moments when God reveals His power most clearly. When believers seek God sincerely during such times, revival can take place both individually and collectively.
He highlighted three important outcomes that revival in crisis brings in the life of believers. First, revival in crisis renews our love for the Lord, calling us to love God with all our hearts and to place Him at the center of our lives. Second, revival leads to personal transformation, where lives are changed through God’s grace and guidance. Third, revival fosters unity among believers, strengthening the church and building a supportive community of faith.
Rev. Dr. Kilel concluded by reminding the congregation that where there is revival, miracles happen. When people turn back to God with sincere hearts, He moves powerfully in their lives, restoring hope and bringing new life even in the midst of crisis.
Through prayer, faith, and unity, believers can experience revival that transforms lives and communities.
At Kenya Highlands University, moments like these continue to strengthen our commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also spiritual growth rooted in Christian values.
