Returning to the Lord with Wholehearted Surrender

Our Tuesday and Thursday chapel services continue to be a fountain of spiritual renewal within our University. In these sacred moments of worship and reflection, we are reminded that revival is not an event we organize, but a work that God performs in surrendered hearts.

We were greatly blessed to be ministered to by Rev. Simeon Mitei, one of our students and the Africa Gospel Church, Area Director for Sotik. He shared a powerful message from the book of Hosea 6:1-2, calling us back to wholehearted surrender before God. The message revealed the depth of God’s steadfast love even in seasons when His people drift away. Hosea’s prophecy shows us that though there may be discipline, God’s ultimate desire is restoration.

He reminded us that God’s timing is perfect. Even when we pass through seasons of silence, correction, or waiting, the Lord is actively working out His redemptive purposes.

The message further emphasized that the path to revival is repentance. Spiritual awakening begins when we humbly acknowledge our shortcomings and turn back to the Lord with sincerity. It is in brokenness that God rebuilds us. It is in surrender that He restores us.

Above all, we were encouraged that the promise of new life is found in Christ Jesus. In Him, there is restoration, hope, dry and weary hearts are revived again. True transformation does not come from effort alone, but from abiding in Christ.

He encouraged the congregation to fix their focus on the Cross, the foundation of our faith and the source of spiritual growth. Revival is sustained when we continually immerse ourselves in the Word of God, turn away from every form of evil, and faithfully engage in the daily work God has entrusted to us. Growth in the Spirit requires intentional devotion and consistent obedience.

He concluded with a heartfelt call for each believer to rekindle the power of the Holy Spirit within their lives.

May we respond to this call with sincere hearts. May our surrender be complete. And may the Lord continue to breathe fresh life into our chapel services and into each one of us as we walk daily in His presence.
