Our Spiritual Mission Emphasis Week officially began today, bringing together staff, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joseph Kiplangat, and students for a time of worship, spiritual reflection, and renewed commitment to God’s mission.
We are honoured to host Rev. Wycliff Keter, an alumnus who graduated in 2006, as the guest speaker during the todays and this week services. Drawing his message from Acts 1:1-11, Rev. Keter challenged the congregation to reflect on why God has placed them at Kenya Highlands University, whether as students or members of staff.
He reminded the congregation that every believer has a role to play in God’s mission and is called to share the Gospel with those who have not yet heard it.
He encouraged members of the University community to recognise that their presence at the institution is an opportunity to serve God and positively impact the lives of others.
Rev. Keter further emphasised that God is a missionary God who sends His people to reach the unreached. He noted that receiving Jesus Christ brings the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers to live out their faith and actively participate in God’s work.
He challenged the congregation to move beyond merely hearing the Word and instead take practical steps of faith, trusting God and expecting great things from Him.
As the Spiritual Mission Emphasis Week continues, the University community is encouraged to embrace the call to mission in their daily lives, recognising that every believer is a missionary, sent by God to be a witness for Christ wherever they are
