We were deeply blessed to host Rev. Raymond Tonui, Africa Gospel Church, Kenya – AGC Administrative Secretary and our distinguished Alumnus (Class of 2004) speak in our Chapel service today. His presence among us was not only an honour, but a reminder that God is faithful across generations and to all our Alumni.
He shared on the topic “The word of God as the Fuel of Revival” From Ezekiel 37:1, he gently led us into the valley of dry bones; a place of silence, scattered hopes, and lifeless remains. Yet in that valley, God asked a powerful question: “Can these bones live?”
He brought clearly that we stand in our own valleys, moments of disappointment, spiritual weariness, unanswered prayers, hidden struggles and quietly wonder if we will have a breakthrough.
Rev. Tonui reminded us that no valley is too dry for God. No heart is too weary. No dream is too broken. The same God who breathed life into dry bones still breathes life into tired souls today. Where we see emptiness, He sees potential. Where we see endings, He speaks new beginnings.
He challenged us to honestly recognize our personal “valleys”.
He further encouraged the congregation that revival begins when we allow God’s Word to speak into the dry places we would rather hide.
In a generation where worship can sometimes drift toward entertainment, he reminded us that true revival is rooted in authentic worship and deep engagement with God’s Word.
His prayer for Kenya Highlands University was simple yet profound: that we would remain anchored in Scripture, filled with the Holy Spirit, and unwavering in our devotion.
As he concluded, we were reminded that God has not left us alone. His Holy Spirit fills us, strengthens us, and walks with us. He knows our struggles. He sees our valleys. And through His Word we will live.
May we hear His voice.
May we speak His Word.
May every dry place in us rise again.
