What Are You Doing with the Blood of Jesus

chapel 5

Our Chapel Services provides a vital spiritual anchor for our university community. These gatherings bring together students, staff, and faculty in a shared time of worship, fellowship, and teaching. Through chapel service, we are nourished spiritually, strengthened in faith, and encouraged to live out Christian values in our daily academic and personal lives.

Today’s chapel service was enriched by our speaker Dr. Russ White, a distinguished medical professional who has served as a full-time doctor at Tenwek Hospital since 1997. He is the Director of the Cardiothoracic Centre, a leading facility responsible for nearly 60% of cardiothoracic surgeries in Kenya, making a significant contribution to healthcare and life-saving interventions in the country.

Dr. White shared a powerful and thought-provoking message drawn from John 6:53, He reminded the congregation that, shedding of blood was required for the forgiveness and remission of sin. In biblical times, blood was poured at the altar for cleansing, a practice that pointed to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.

At the heart of his message was a challenging question posed to the congregation:

“What are you doing with the blood of Jesus?”

This question called each listener to personal reflection. He encouraged us not only to acknowledge Christ’s sacrifice, but to receive the life of Jesus fully and allow God to bring true transformation in our hearts and lives.
