Today, the Kenya Highlands University community gathered for a special chapel service to mark the close of the May–August semester. It was a meaningful time of worship, reflection, and thanksgiving as students, faculty, and staff celebrated God’s faithfulness throughout the semester.
The message was delivered by Nehara, a student from Asbury Theological Seminary who has been serving at Kenya Highlands University during her practicum. Preaching from Luke 22:19–20, she spoke on the importance of remembering Christ and the commitments we have made to Him.
She explained that Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper during the Passover and instructed His disciples, “Do this in remembrance of me.” This was not merely a call to remember an event, but an invitation to continually center our lives on Christ, His sacrifice, and the new covenant established through His blood. She challenged the congregation to remember the Saviour wherever they go and to remain steadfast in their faith, allowing their lives to reflect His love and grace.
The service concluded with the celebration of Holy Communion, as the university community came together to remember Christ’s sacrifice and renew their commitment to faithful Christian living.
As we bring the May–August semester to a close, we give thanks to God for His sustaining grace, protection, and countless blessings. We pray for journey mercies, refreshing during the break, and God’s continued guidance as we look forward to the next semester with renewed strength and purpose
