Today’s chapel service was a blessed time of worship and spiritual encouragement as the Catholic Students Association led the university community in fellowship. We were honoured to have Ms. Brenda Chepkoech, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student, ministers the Word of God and shares a timely message on the importance and rewards of holiness.
Drawing her sharing from Romans 6:22–23, Ms. Chepkoech explained that holiness is a life set apart for God, marked by obedience, purity, and devotion to His will. She reminded the congregation that while salvation is a gift from God through Jesus Christ, believers are called to bear the fruit of holiness, which leads to a life that pleases God and ultimately to eternal life.
She highlighted three key rewards of living a holy life: peace and safety, success and trust, and eternal life. She encouraged the congregation to remain faithful to God, assuring them that He grants peace, protection, and guidance to those who walk in holiness. Using the life of Joseph, she demonstrated how God honours and elevates those who remain faithful despite challenges. She concluded by reminding everyone that holiness leads to eternal life, urging believers to pursue a life that is pleasing to God as they prepare for His eternal kingdom.
In her concluding remarks, Ms. Chepkoech challenged the university community to live lives worthy of the Gospel of Christ.
The service was marked by the presence of the staff led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Kiplangat. In his remarks he expressed his appreciation to Ms. Brenda Chepkoech for sharing such a timely and inspiring message. He commended her for boldly proclaiming God’s Word and encouraged the university community to put the message into practice by pursuing holiness in their daily lives.
The chapel service also marked a significant milestone for the University. He recognized Prof. Robert Langat for his dedicated service and invaluable contributions during his tenure as Deputy Vice Chancellor. He expressed the University’s sincere appreciation for Prof. Langat’s commitment and leadership. He then officially introduced the new Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. John Gathii, to the University community. In welcoming him, he expressed confidence in Dr. Gathii’s leadership, wealth of experience, and commitment to advancing the University’s mission of academic excellence and founded on Christian values. The congregation warmly welcomed the new DVC as he embarked on his new role of serving the University.
